People of Bulltánica

Moe Rivera
Moe Rivera is a Puerto Rico–born massage therapist, father, and co-founder of Bulltánica. Raised in the Bronx and based in Durham since 2005, he brings skilled bodywork and attentive care to his practice.
As a licensed massage and bodywork therapist, Moe specializes in deep tissue massage, sports massage, manual lymphatic drainage, myofascial work, and individualized recovery support. He listens closely, adjusts pressure and pace, and checks in about what feels comfortable throughout each session.
Before entering massage therapy, Moe worked in youth and afterschool programs, spent nearly a decade in the electronic components industry, and worked in hospitality. Those experiences strengthened the listening, communication, and relationship-building skills that now shape his practice.
Through Bulltánica and Massage by Moe, he aims to help people feel supported, respected, and more comfortable in their bodies.

Alicia Crosson-Taylor
Alicia Crosson-Taylor supports families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum months. Her work in early childhood education spans more than 15 years, including roles in early intervention and inclusive preschool programs.
A fourth-generation birth worker, Alicia is a Certified Labor Doula, Certified Infant Feeding Specialist, and Certified VBAC Specialist. She offers educational, emotional, and physical support shaped around each family’s needs.
Becoming a parent in 2016 deepened her understanding of how overwhelming the transition after birth can feel, and how much steady support matters. Away from her work with families, she enjoys creating tea blends and spending time with her husband and children.

Holly DeVries
Holly DeVries is a Durham native and a 500-hour certified yoga instructor. She teaches mindful movement guided by breath, with attention to how each person feels in their body.
Holly is also an INELDA-trained death doula and a DONA-trained birth doula. Her work supports individuals and families through birth, dying, and other significant transitions with sensitivity and respect.
Outside her practice, Holly enjoys rock climbing, running, backpacking, and knitting. She shares her home with her husband and two rabbits.

Monica Rivera
Medicinal herbalist
Monica is a community herbalist, yoga teacher (RYT-200), and Level 3 Reiki practitioner. Her training includes a decade-long apprenticeship with Suki Roth and a year of study at the Chapel Hill School of Ayurveda.
Her relationship with plants began in her Indian and Italian family. Food, gardening, and preserving the harvest remain part of how she teaches and works with herbs.
Through Cultivating Resistance Herbals, Monica offers herbal consultations, prepares teas and other herbal products, and shares practical plant skills with children and adults. Her yoga practice brings together movement, breath, and rest.
