Massage by Moe: Somatic and Trauma-Informed Therapy

Grounded in Moe’s profound commitment to emotional and physical wellness, each session emphasizes the connection between body and emotional memory. Moe’s skilled use of somatic techniques facilitates gentle yet powerful emotional release, helping you navigate past trauma and achieve deeper self-awareness and resilience.

What Makes It Different

  • Integrates science, somatic practice, and intuitive touch

  • Addresses fascia and lymph, not just muscle

  • Honors emotional release as a part of physical healing

  • Grounded in two decades of hands-on practice and lived healing

This specialized lymphatic release  is especially supportive for those recovering from chronic pain, stress, injury, or emotional trauma. The approach is gentle yet profound, guiding your body and mind back into alignment, ease, and deeper connection.

Moe’s intuitive method doesn’t just treat symptom; it listens deeply to your body’s unique story, creating space for genuine healing and renewal.

What Is Massage by Moe?

Massage by Moe is more than pain relief — it’s a return to presence.

This bodywork approach integrates lymphatic drainage, fascia release, breathwork, and somatic awareness to address pain not only in the body, but in the places where memory and energy get stored beneath the surface.

Guided by over 20 years of experience, Moe’s work is rooted in the belief that true healing happens in the space between — between the cells, within the fascia, in the subtle shifts the body makes when it feels safe enough to let go.

Core Elements of the Work

Lymphatic Flow

Gentle, directional techniques designed to reduce stagnation and inflammation by stimulating the body's natural drainage pathways.

Fascia Release

Slow, sustained pressure to help unwind tension and trauma from connective tissue — supporting posture, mobility, and nervous system regulation.

Breath and Somatic Awareness

Each session is guided by the breath and the moment-to-moment sensations of the body. This helps reconnect the client to their physical experience with clarity and compassion.

Emotional Memory and Energy Discharges

Pain often holds a story. This work creates the conditions for emotional release and energetic movement, without force — only permission.

THE MURAL

The Old Kitchen Mural: A Global History of Sacred Ruins

Once the heart of the Wright family’s home, this room served as their original kitchen from 1929 to 1940, later becoming a breakfast room following the home’s expansion. In 2004, it was featured in the Designer Showhouse curated by the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties.l

Inspired by designer Minta Bell’s renovation, artist David Matthews created a panoramic mural that transformed the space into a quiet reverence for global civilizations. The mural weaves together sacred and historical sites—all located south of the 36th parallel, which passes through Durham—depicting ruins as they were in the act of being built, not in decay.

Dominating the western wall are the monumental columns of Persepolis, the Persian capital under Darius the Great (521–486 BCE). Nearby, the mural features the rebuilt temple of Jerusalem, with Zerubbabel, Joshua, and the prophet Haggai depicted in motion. Imhotep’s stepped pyramid at Saqqara, south of Cairo, anchors the southern edge of the empire.

The north wall journeys to India, where Krishna bathes in the Ganges beside his cowherds, while the Buddha delivers his teachings in the Deer Park of Sarnath. The eastern wall portrays Confucius receiving homage from Lao Tse, framed by a moon bridge from Suzhou, China.

Finally, on the southern wall, ancient La Venta—the Olmec capital in present-day Mexico—rises, while to its right, the iconic peak of Huayna Picchu watches over Machu Picchu before Incan rule.

This mural stands as a global altar—linking ancient wisdom, spirituality, and architectural legacy across continents. It now welcomes a new purpose as a healing treatment room, a space where past and present coalesce in care and reverence.
